Living with HIV-AIDS – Important general information for a better quality of life

HIV / AIDS is a disease of the immune system, where the ability to defend the body against infection by reducing significantly., HIV is mainly through sexual intercourse or through blood to blood contact to spread. To do this simply, in layman's terms, the HIV virus enters the blood and accumulates in the service of white blood cells (CD4 cells, the receptors). The virus then modifies its genetic material into that of white blood cells. The virus can not be detectedother white blood cells, and over time can replicate hundreds of HIV. When the HIV virus uses the cellular material of white blood cells, break them open and the new virus can spread and through the bloodstream.

A person infected with HIV can pass through four stages of the disease:

Hiv

Primary HIV-1 phase
Latent symptomatic phase 2
Minor symptomatic phase 3
4 Large symptomaticPhase
5 AIDS-defining conditions, the severe symptomatic phase.

The symptoms of stage 1 are:
• neck pain, headaches, mild fever, fatigue, muscle and joint pain, swollen lymph nodes, skin rashes and mouth ulcers.

The CD4 cell count is approx. 800-1200 cells/mm3.

Symptoms of stage 2 are:
• Absence of symptoms, since this is the latent stage.

The CD4 cell count 500-800 cells

The symptoms of stage 3 are:
• swollen lymph nodesNodes / glands in the neck, armpits and groin.
• occasional fever, recurrent respiratory infections.
• herpes zoster, skin infections and rashes.
• recurrent oral ulcers
• Loss of weight up to 10% of usual body weight.
• Prolonged, unexplained fatigue.

The CD4 cell count 350-500 cells

The symptoms of stage 4 are:
• oral and vaginal infections, persistent and recurrent Candida (thrush)
• Recurrent infections such as herpesCold sores
• Recurrent infections, herpes zoster (shingles)
• Recurrent infections and bacterial skin rashes
• Fever that lasts more than a month, night sweats
• chronic diarrhea that lasts more than a month
• significant weight loss, unexplained
• abdominal pain, headache
• thickened white patches inside the language
• persistent cough and the reactivation of tuberculosis
• opportunistic infectionsdifferent types

The CD4 cell count 150-350 cells

Symptoms of Level 5 are:
• continued diarrhea, nausea and vomiting cause weight loss.
• persistent recurrent vaginal candidiasis.
• fever blisters and oral candidiasis
• Serious infections and recurrent skin
• respiratory infections due to persistent cough, chest pain and fever.
• Pneumonia
• weight, fatigue
• severe herpes zoster
• Body painNumbness or "pins and needles"
• memory loss, difficulty concentrating, headache or confusion.
• cryptococcal meningitis, with fever, headache, stiff neck, change in mental status
• infections cause damage to the brain
• painless swelling of the red-brown skin and mucous membranes
• TB
• Other sexually transmitted diseases (STD)

The CD4 cell count below 200 cells.

The three main types / causes of infectionare:
1 unprotected sexual intercourse with a person infected with HIV
2 infection through contaminated blood or blood products
Mother 3 – child transmission of HIV through the placenta, during birth or through breastfeeding.

All of these symptoms in many other diseases may be confused, so the only way to make sure you have, or not, AIDS is to be tested. If you are positive, then you can make an important contribution to their survival and quality of lifeby a program of early treatment, which is promoted in immune enhancement.
